Cosmetics and personal care products companies take their responsibility for safety very seriously. We are proud that ours is one of the safest product categories regulated by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Labeling & Packaging

Manufacturers and distributors – as well as consumers – benefit from efforts to continually enhance the labeling and packaging of cosmetics and personal care products sold in the United States.

Sunscreen

The Personal Care Products Council (PCPC) provides education and information to help consumers and a variety of stakeholders make informed decisions about sunscreen. Sun protection and sunscreens are critical to preventing skin cancer and premature skin aging.

Microbeads

PCPC’s task force works to define and distinguish microbeads, microplastic, waxes, and polymers in cosmetics; apply an environmental risk assessment approach; and identify a strategy that expeditiously drives a science-based approach to protect the use of materials that are respectful to the environment.
