Skin cancer is the most common cancer in the U.S., yet it’s also the most preventable. Unfortunately, misinformation about sun protection and sunscreen use continues to circulate on all social media platforms.

In the U.S., more people are diagnosed with skin cancer each year than all other cancers combined. Currently, less than 12 percent of U.S. adults use sunscreen daily. PCPC is dedicated to promoting the healthy lives and well-being of all.
Sunscreen Regulatory Fact Sheet
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has not approved any new ultraviolet (UV) filters since 1999, despite the Sunscreen Innovation Act being enacted in 2014 to expedite the review and approval process for active ingredients to help skin protection from UV rays.
