The Modernization of Cosmetics Regulation Act (MoCRA) established mandatory adverse event recordkeeping and serious adverse event reporting requirements for cosmetic manufacturers, elevating post-market surveillance (PMS) from industry best practice to regulatory requirement.
Effective PMS programs, however, extend beyond compliance. Anna VerMeer, PharmD is a Senior Clinical Toxicologist and Pharmacovigilance Officer at SafetyCall International LLC, a multidisciplinary healthcare firm serving industry in the areas of adverse event management, regulatory reporting, post-market surveillance, and product safety.
Dr. VerMeer obtained a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from the University of St. Thomas in 2018 and a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) and Certificate in Integrative Therapies and Healing Practices from the University of Minnesota College of Pharmacy in 2022. She completed a Post-Doctoral Residency in Clinical Toxicology and Pharmacovigilance at SafetyCall International in 2023. She is a co-author in the 3rd edition of Blackwell’s Five-Minute Veterinary Consult Clinical Companion and is a lecturer in the Clinical Toxicology course at the University of Minnesota College of Pharmacy. She practices in the areas of clinical toxicology, consumer product post-market surveillance and pharmacovigilance, adverse event incident and trending data analysis, forensic toxicology, and product safety regulatory policy. In addition to her clinical and regulatory work, Dr. VerMeer represents SafetyCall International as a featured speaker across a variety of industry conferences and educational forums.
