Tom Kurland is a litigation partner at Patterson Belknap focusing on products liability, brand protection, and commercial tort claims, with a particular emphasis on matters involving FDA-regulated products and industries. He is also an integral member of the firm’s industry-leading anti-counterfeiting team and has extensive experience prosecuting large-scale civil anti-counterfeiting and anti-diversion matters on behalf of brand and trademark owners, both in the U.S. and abroad, often as a complement to or in conjunction with criminal law enforcement efforts. Through this work Mr. Kurland has helped his clients seize and destroy of millions of counterfeit products, obtain significant permanent injunctive relief, and recover hundreds of millions of dollars in settlements, judgments, and restitution awards. Mr. Kurland earned his J.D. from Cornell Law School and his B.A., cum laude, from the University of Pennsylvania.
