Michael has a long resume of leadership roles in academia and non-profit environmental organizations.

In his role as the Vice President of Sustainability at Nestle Waters North America–and later as a Senior Policy Advisor at The Recycling Partnership, Michael has advocated for packaging EPR laws in multiple states. In his consulting practice, he advises clients on their engagement with existing laws and emerging legislative proposals.

The team at WCSPA supports trade associations and individual companies as they work to understand, engage, and comply with EPR laws. Michael was one of the consultants involved in helping set up the Circular Action Alliance and is the founder of EPR Academy, the first one-stop source for online EPR education.

Michael received a BS and MS from the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry and a PhD in natural resources policy from Penn State University. He is a former faculty member of the Yale School of the Environment.
