Maggie Fleming, Ph.D.

Dr. Maggie Fleming is a Senior Environmental Scientist with the Personal Care Products Council (PCPC). She works with PCPC’s Environmental Safety Committee, conducting environmental risk assessments of cosmetic and over-the-counter drug ingredients. Her assessment work includes the development and use of models to predict concentrations of personal care product ingredients in U.S. surface waters. Prior to PCPC, Maggie was a Managing Engineer at Exponent, a scientific consulting firm. She worked on a diverse portfolio of projects, including environmental risk assessment of pharmaceuticals, personal care products, pesticides, and industrial chemicals. She developed expertise in exposure assessments, ranging in complexity from screening level assessments to watershed level models. Maggie earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Engineering from Cornell University, and Master of Science and doctoral degrees in Environmental Engineering from Johns Hopkins University. She is a licensed Professional Engineer in New Hampshire.
