Gerry Moody is a partner in Akin’s white collar defense & government investigations practice and a leading member of the firm’s tariff enforcement defense team.
Gerry is a former Assistant Chief in the U.S. Department of Justice Criminal Division’s Fraud Section, where he supervised and participated in over 100 investigations and prosecutions. He brings nearly a decade of experience as a federal prosecutor to advise clients in connection with government investigations and related enforcement proceedings, litigation, compliance counseling and other strategic risk analysis and mitigation.
Gerry’s practice focuses on Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and anticorruption issues, trade fraud and tariff evasion, government procurement fraud, export control enforcement, sanctions violations, money laundering, antitrust matters and health care fraud. Gerry clerked for Judge Roslynn R. Mauskopf in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York and received his J.D. with honors from Columbia Law School.
