Andress Johnson, Technical Manager for Disinfection and Household Preservation in North America and Personal America’s, at THOR Specialties, Inc. Thor Group, a global leader in the manufacture and distribution of personal care additives such as preservatives, quaternary ammonium compounds and emollients.  Background in microbiology, biology and chemistry, and having been in consumer applications going on 20 years, she has held various positions in companies such as CIBA, BASF and Akzo Nobel (Nouryon).  Andress, obtained her PhD in Wood Science, Majoring in Wood Preservation at University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada working with application of quaternary ammonium compounds in wood preservation.  Andress is a past chair of PCPC microbiology committee, a member of SCC, HCPA and holds numerous publications and patents.
