Personal Care Products Council Applauds U.S. House of Representatives for Passing the Wastewater Infrastructure Pollution Prevention and Environmental Safety Act

Washington, D.C. — The Personal Care Products Council (PCPC) commends the bipartisan leadership of Congress in advancing the Wastewater Infrastructure Pollution Prevention and Environmental Safety (WIPPES) Act. This important legislation reflects a thoughtful approach to addressing the challenges associated with the improper disposal of non-flushable wipes.

If enacted, the bill establishes federal labeling standards for certain pre-moistened, nonwoven wipes, aligning with existing industry guidelines to ensure proper disposal.

“PCPC and its member companies remain deeply committed to fostering science-based policies that protect public health, support sustainability and promote uniform standards across the personal care products industry. The WIPPES Act’s common-sense framework benefits consumers, protects the environment and provides clarity for manufacturers.

“We appreciate the collaborative efforts of lawmakers in moving this legislation forward and look forward to continued engagement to support its passage and implementation.”
