Overview

Quaternary ammonium compounds—commonly known as quats—are a diverse class of ingredients widely used across diverse industries such as laundry and cleaning, agriculture and paper, metal and mining, water treatment as well as in the personal care and cosmetic industry. These substances are perhaps most known for their use in disinfecting and sanitizing products as antimicrobial agents. Their functions in personal care products are much broader to include cleaning, softening product suspension and conditioning.

This webinar will present the current activity in California which was the impetus for industry’s efforts to educate the regulatory agency on quats chemistries and applications in products and the industry’s future steps to ensure that these ingredients are available for innovating products.
