Lisa Powers

Executive Vice President, Public Affairs & Communications

Lisa Powers is executive vice president of Public Affairs & Communications at PCPC. Powers is responsible for developing and executing strategic communications and public affairs strategies on issues affecting the industry. She serves as the primary spokesperson for the industry, overseeing media relations and working with the public affairs team to support PCPC member companies’ communications needs.

Before joining PCPC, Powers served as senior vice president at the Mercury Group, a full-service communications firm specializing in issues management and crisis communications. She was responsible for communications strategy and messaging, reputation management and branding, and website and publications management for high-profile clients and issues. She also served as the lead instructor for the firm’s media training and executive coaching program.

Powers served as senior manager, Communications and Public Relations for the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) where she led communications, marketing and member recruitment efforts on behalf of 22,000 health care professionals.

Powers has served in top communications and public affairs positions for Fortune 500 companies, and advocacy and trade groups and has worked with hundreds of national and international broadcast, online and print news outlets.

Powers earned her bachelor's degree in Journalism from Temple University and master's degree in Public Communications/Public Affairs from American University.
