PCPC letter to Governors regarding critical infrastructure
PCPC works to clarify executive orders in key states:
PCPC supports the efforts of states in implementing policies to limit the impact of the Coronavirus during this challenging and rapidly changing environment. It is critical that key industries and sectors, like the personal care manufacturing sector, continue to be able to maintain operations throughout this unprecedented time. PCPC supports these efforts with the goal of continuing to manufacture critical supplies and maintain transportation systems so that industry can produce and deliver essential products.
PCPC has been advocating for key states to include the personal care and hygiene industry as an essential business. California Governor Gavin Newsom updated their guidance to specifically call out personal care/hygiene products as “Essential Critical Infrastructure Workers.” In addition, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo’s Empire State Development updated the essential business guidance to include products regulated by the Food and Drug Administration.
PCPC is working with our member companies and state government officials in additional states to ensure that necessary personal care product manufacturing is not disrupted.
