He has spent close to a decade reporting on the Food and Drug Administration and other federal health agencies, working to explain how these institutions, charged with safeguarding Americans’ health and wellbeing, impact people’s lives. David also authors Prescription Pulse, a biweekly newsletter focused on FDA developments.
He has broken news on the government’s handling of the Covid-19 pandemic, Medicare drug price negotiations and major personnel changes.
Before joining POLITICO, he helped launch Industry Dive’s MedTech Dive and worked at Inside Washington Publishers’ FDA Week.
A native of the Bay Area, David graduated from American University with a double major in economics and journalism. A fan of the Mountain Goats, he enjoys playing ultimate frisbee and rock climbing in his spare time.
