Webinar: Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) –
What’s the Future?

May 11, 2022, 12:00 p.m.

Brands and businesses face mounting investor and regulatory pressures as public policymakers around the world look for solutions to reduce packaging waste and progress towards a circular economy, including Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) programs, stewardship programs, and material bans or taxes. EPR policies recognize that a manufacturer’s responsibility for its product and packaging extends to post-consumer use, attempting to shift some financial and management responsibility for a product’s impacts upstream to the manufacturer and away from the public sector. In doing so, these policies incentivize manufacturers to integrate environmental considerations into the design of their products and packaging.

Join PCPC on May 11 for a one-hour webinar aimed at helping companies of all sizes learn about plastic packaging/waste policy approaches in the U.S., what companies can do to prepare, and how product stewardship and circular design approaches can help. This webinar will also cover:

  • current state and national legislation
  • insights from the brand/retailer perspective on the intersection of EPR policy and achievement of sustainable packaging goals
  • principles of EPR policies and the hallmarks of a successful EPR program
  • policy positions from organizations like The Recycling Partnership, etc.
  • resources about EPR legislation in the U.S.

The price for PCPC members is $95 and $175 for nonmembers. Can’t make it to this webinar? Sign up anyway! A recording will be sent to all registrants. For questions on registration, contact Shirley Gibbs.
