INCIpedia: Understanding the new features of PCPC’s enhanced databases
March 16, 2023, 1 p.m. - 2 p.m. ETJoin PCPC for a special one-hour member briefing and demonstration of INCIpedia on March 16 at 1 p.m. ET to learn how to navigate the new and improved wINCI, InfoBase and International Regulatory Database (IRDB).
PCPC’s Joanne Nikitakis, senior director of Cosmetic Chemistry, and Carol Eisenmann, senior toxicologist, will provide an overview of PCPC’s science databases:
- wINCI – the online version of the International Cosmetic Ingredient Dictionary and Handbook with the complete compilation of INCI names and related technical information,
- InfoBase – major data collections on ingredients and technical reports, along with links to the safety evaluations conducted by the Cosmetic Ingredient Review, assessments by the European Commission’s Scientific Committee for Consumer Safety (SCCS) and Australia’s Industrial Chemical Introduction Scheme, as well as current news impacting our industry
Additionally, Jon Hicks, director of International Trade and Regulatory Affairs, will provide an overview of the recently updated IRDB, which includes access to the latest regulatory requirements for cosmetics and personal care products. IRDB is the most comprehensive global regulatory resource with information from more than 90 countries, including 160,000 ingredient restrictions.
Updates to the INCIpedia platform are made continuously and in real-time as new information becomes available.
InfoBase and the IRDB are available exclusively to PCPC members.
