Start your day at Cosmoprof with a light breakfast and a lively, informative discussion about critical issues facing our industry!

The Personal Care Products Council (PCPC) and Independent Cosmetics Manufacturers & Distributors (ICMAD) will host an “insider” look at some of the key issues impacting our industry in the United States and around the world.

Expert panelists will discuss emerging regulatory issues and trends that will have a significant impact on innovation and product development. These include concerns around the environmental impact of cosmetic packaging and ingredients; reform of FDA’s sunscreen regulations; and pending legislation at the state, federal and global levels.

Panel 1: The U.S. Landscape

Speakers

Dr. Ken Marenus, President, ICMAD

Karin Ross, Vice President, Government Affairs, PCPC

Our expert panel members will discuss developments at the state and federal level, including bans on ingredients accused of harming the environment; stricter requirements on ingredient disclosure; and a significant revision to FDA’s sunscreen regulations.

Panel 2: Global Regulatory Update

Speakers:

Francine Lamoriello, Executive Vice President, Global Strategies, PCPC

April Guo, General Manager, Personal Care Division, CIRS

Gordon Greenwood, a consultant on Canada regulatory issues

Industry experts will discuss critical changes affecting cosmetic regulations in China, the European Union and Canada. These include new proposals from Chinese regulators that could eliminate the need for animal testing; EU restrictions on microplastics that could require reformulation of many cosmetic products; and a new framework to simplify and streamline Canada’s cosmetic regulatory system.
