Back by popular demand, the Council will hold its 2012 Regulatory Science Summit Thursday March 29 – Friday March 30 in Bethesda, MD. This exciting event has become a very important and much needed bridge between regulators and industry. We are pleased to announce the Key Note speaker this year will be Mary Lou Valdez, Associate Commissioner for International Programs and Director, Office of International Programs on “Challenges in a Global Environment”
Following the highly praised format, pairing Industry Experts and Regulators, the Summit will address
- Integrated Toxicology--Current Approached to Safety Assessment
The rapid developments in in silico, in vitro and computational methods offer great promise and great challenges for the 21st century toxicologist. Attend this session to understand how integrated assessment challenges the historical approach to safety assessment.
- Combined Exposure -- Mixtures and Multiple Chemical Exposure
The concept of complex exposure is finding increasing attention and prominence in regulation. This session will outline the state of science and how that can impact cosmetic safety assessments.
- Day two presentations on topics of most interest to the personal care products industry including science projects at FDA, work on traces and an update on the European recast.
