The Council represents the industry at the federal, state and local level on issues of interest to the personal care and cosmetic industry. A major federal priority that the Council and our members have championed in recent years focuses on Congressional funding for the Food and Drug Administration’s Office of Colors and Cosmetics. A top priority for the Council has been to insure that Congress provides adequate and sufficient funding for FDA’s Cosmetics Office.
State focus on a wide range of policy issues that directly and indirectly affect the member of the Council. Sustainability and “Green Chemistry” issues have moved to the forefront for all manufactures of consumer products in the United States.
Members of the Council’s Government Affairs and Legislative Committee working with the Board of Directors sets the policies for this industry.
Major efforts include providing opportunities for elected officials to learn more about the thousands of skilled professionals that make up this industry. Regular meetings are held in Washington along with key state capitals.
