Legislation & Regulation
The Council represents the industry at the federal, state and local level on issues of interest to the personal care and cosmetic industry. A major federal priority that the Council and our members have championed in recent years focuses on Congressional funding for the Food and Drug Administration’s Office of Colors and Cosmetics. A top priority for the Council has been to insure that Congress provides adequate and sufficient funding for FDA’s Cosmetics Office.
When new laws are passed, our focus shifts to the development of the regulations that will guide and implement the laws. The Council’s regulatory and legal team monitors existing and proposed regulations on both the state and federal level.
