Creating a Sustainable Future: Society
Recent data from Price Waterhouse Coopers highlights that cosmetic and personal care products companies contribute twice as much to charity in the U.S. as other manufacturing industries. Their contributions help a variety of causes including: educational advancement, breast cancer awareness and research, clean water, domestic violence awareness, AIDS, advancing women interested in the scientific field, raising the profile on Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and supporting emergency relief efforts.
In addition, the industry’s signature philanthropic program Look Good…Feel Better is dedicated to improving the self-esteem and quality of life for women, men and teens undergoing cancer treatment by helping them manage the appearance-related side effects of treatment. Though its partnership with the American Cancer Society and the Professional Beauty Association, Look Good…Feel Better has helped more than 700,000 women in the U.S. alone.
